Another continent

As expected and already mentioned, the weather in southern Iberia is mild and pleasant in the winter. However, it still seems a bit too cold for our camping setup. That’s why we decided to go to Morocco, a destination we hadn’t considered before going on tour. Thanks to travelers we met on our last campsite, we got information on where to get budget ferry tickets – and those aren’t available online. Just two days later, we were on the ferry.

Despite the fact that the ship traveled for less than two hours, we lost nearly a whole day switching continents. The delay before takeoff and the slightly rough sea due to the weather were not the issues. Even though border controls are supposed to be the fastest in that harbor, something went wrong, and we were forgotten. After waiting for about an hour, we were almost the last passengers of the boat to be allowed to enter Morocco. Finally! It’s just that the weather might be a bit wet and cloudy. Anyway, we had a long way to go since we wanted to see more of the south. After traveling at our own tempo for a few days, we reached Marrakesh and spent a few days exploring the city and taking care of some things. Luckily, there were no major incidents, as traffic rules seem to be just recommendations. Turn signals either don’t exist or are turned on after cars have suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. But one gets into this, too. Hopefully not due to an accident…
