We had a great time with our friend. The first evening went brilliantly. He prepared a barbecue for his family, who came to visit him. It was a family gathering, so we felt a little out of place hanging around. However, we gladly accepted their invitation and tried to help as much as possible. We had already prepared sourdough and managed to bake bread in time—lucky coincidence! It didn’t last long.
Some of his family moved to the US, while others studied and worked in Germany for a while. The fact that they were all in Romania made this get-together special. There was a huge variety of topics we could talk about. Thanks to their cosmopolitan background, English was the perfect foundation for communication. We didn’t just exchange ideas. Some of our traveling sourdough will stay in Romania, and some is about to go to the US. We are thrilled that we could share it all around the world!

That evening, we took a walk into the woods a few kilometers away and suggested that our friend pick us up. He wanted to drive our car. On our way back through bushes and some mud, an accident badly injured his knee. He went to the hospital. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to be too serious. Nevertheless, we feel very guilty about it!
The next day, we offered to walk on the planned horse trip while he drove by car. However, he got stuck in a mud pit, so he ended up walking seven kilometers with the horses to the farm. On his injured knee. Oh dear.
After we towed out his car, we spent the last evening together. The next day, we left. In those few days, we had so many experiences! We had a great time spending time together, especially because he is such a kind and nice guy. Thank you very much! We definitely want to come back!
