Digital hangover

There was a scheduled gap during which I would be alone for about a week. I took the opportunity to work off a lot of computer work that had been deferred during the last stressful weeks. However, I made sure to fit in a little sightseeing, which is why I visited Kazbegi National Park in the Caucasus, where I was able to get a solid internet connection. On my way there, I bought some bread from a traditional clay oven bakery. The next morning, I met four Chinese guys who were traveling together. I spontaneously offered to be their taxi. Since there were only two additional places inside the car, the other two stood on the back of it. It was a sympathic gathering. We had a lot of fun before they left in the afternoon. Getting stuck in a hidden mud pit wasn’t too much fun at first. But it seemed necessary to complete their off-road experience.

From my tiny bureau, I could see the beautiful mountains around me. Despite the bad forecast, the weather constantly improved. I took the opportunity to hike to a popular waterfall in the national park.

While searching for an alternative route out of the mountains, I attempted to take a small pass. Even the first kilometer required preparing the track. Ultimately, it would be the only kilometer I drove on that road, as it was too dangerous to continue. Perhaps the name of the last village I needed to cross before reaching the pass was trying to tell me something…

After finally reaching the Tbilisi area, I took some time to fix a minor problem that occurred during our recent mud pit experience. A wooden plank on my car had been damaged. I found a shop along the road where I could buy wood glue. I also took the chance to have the part that holds the plank welded at the first garage I found. It was a cool experience, and the people were very kind. Since they didn’t charge me, I bought some beer so we could enjoy the evening together. Since I still had some digital work to do, I left the next day for a more relaxing place before heading back to the airport. The journey is now continued together again.
